My dad came back from a business trip to Japan today. I'd gotten quite a few really good marks and even won an art competition while he was gone, so he got me a tablet from Japan.
I've been wanting a tablet for ages, but never got enough money for one. 'Cause I've been wanting to get into digi-painting for a while, 'cause I do quite a lot of extensive pencil-shading on paper, but there's only so much you can do with a mouse.
Anyway, it's not a Wacom, it's a Genius, but that's fine. A friend has the same model, and it works fine.
It's a Genius MousePen 1608 with a 6x8" active area. Nothing overtly special, but I'm excited to get working with it.
Thing is, I'm not supposed to open it 'till Monday, because it's to be a present from my sister for this Hindu holiday. Think of it as knowing what your Christmas present is beforehand. It's kind of annoying, 'cause I've got a free weekend ahead of me, and I can't open it. Eh, whatever, I've waited this long, I can wait another three days.
Seriously, I'm excited. I've been wanting one for ages, and now that it's here, I can barely get my head around it.
This weekend is going to be looooong.
